Ashley Emmons, CRC, LPCA
Ashley Emmons is a certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC), a licensed professional counselor associate (LPCA), and an RYT-200 yoga instructor with a master’s degree in clinical rehabilitation and mental health counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Emmons has received intensive training in trauma-sensitive yoga from David Emerson, the founder of Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga for the Justice Resource Institute in Massachusetts, and she uses this knowledge to guide her work with people who are struggling with body image distress. Emmons specializes in helping individuals who suffer from mental illness, eating disorders, body dysmorphic disorder, depression, and adjustment disorders, as well as those who are in a major life transition and those who have a history of trauma. Her approach to counseling is client-centered, and she uses dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral techniques, goal setting, and solution-focused techniques in her practice.
